i really wanted to learn to speak and understand spanish since my grandparents are spanish, but never i had the chance to learn it from them and we were talking about learning it at work yesterday and now i cant believe that its all in front of me on my mac....without any hesitations i grabbed my chance of buying this apps....thanx so much, muchos gracias!!!!

Took spanish for 4 years and I know this app wont get u past spanish 2 It is just a collection of words and phrases Without explanation. This app should realistically be worth $1.99

THIS app is the best Ive found among many many available. WHY? Because it has all of the words and phrases and basic information a absolute beginner needs AND it has the PHONETIC PRONUNCIATIONS associated with every Spanish word and phrase - WRITTEN IN ENGLISH. This is a technique the Berliner series of language books used to use (probably still do). Its GREAT! I dont have to look up obscure confusing linguistic marks or try to hear the native speakers voice clearly and then try to sound just like him or her. The pronunciation is spelled out for me AND it has the correct emphasis points in each word or phrase so I can make my Spanish sound as authentic as possible. All of the other Spanish Apps I looked at did not have this feature. I would rate this app 5 stars for that feature alone.

this app wa perfect. but now its difficult to see with the bizarre color scheme theyve added and changed around. should be cheaper and have a cleaner, more eye-friendly interface coloring...well organized vocab, verbs, phrases though. good app.

The new material and features (audio and learning aids) serve to enhance the already excellent core product. It is easily worth 10 times the price. See my original review, below: I travelled from the US to Ecuador for the first time with only schoolroom Spanish in my head but with Spanish Anywhere in my pocket. It was absolutely indispensable! About to rent a hotel room? Go to the Hotel Situation and glance down the list of complete sentences shown in English and Spanish with pronunciation shown. This app has the uncanny ability to always present me with exactly the word, phrase, or sentence I need very very quickly. Have some dull time in the airport? Use the Learn a New Word feature to display one random word at time, guess the meaning, then display the translation. If you get it wrong you have the option of adding that word to a study list. The dictionary is extremely well designed - you can find most words quickly with minimal or no typing. And the verb conjugator is downright awesome! This app was a huge help and a confidence builder in my first attempts to speak Spanish, has helped to improve my Spanish and two years after my original purchase continues to be useful on a daily basis. You want it. You need it. You gotta have it. Buy it!

Took 3 years of Spanish in high school and I found this app to be the most useful of various language apps Ive tried. Very handy when traveling to Spanish speaking destinations and useful as a learning aid (especially the verb conjugations). My favorite features include the situational phrases and the flash cards.

As I begin to type in the dictionary the app crashes during word search. Fairly basic function that needs fixing. The words and phrases are quite extensive and useful. If they fix the search crashes I would rank it a 4.

Was a great app until iOS 5 came out. Now it crashes right away during any word search. Bummer as I used it every day.

I used to use this app, especially the dictionary, for my Spanish homework every day. However, since iOS5, it crashes literally every second time I look a word up. I would have given it 4-5 stars were it not for this terrible bug. Please fix it!

I used this app to prepare for 12 days in Spain and also used it while on my vacation there. It never let me down & saved my bacon a few times. Muy bueno!

Runs fast. Definitions are clear and concise. Lots of useful features like verb conjugator and phrases.

There are many, if not hundreds, apps with more to offer for much less. This is a $0.99 app with limited scope. Certainly not whats advertised.

This app is worth every penny plus some. Not only have I used it to navigate my way through Spanish-speaking countries but I have used it to prepare for a Spanish certification exam. I promise this will be the best Spanish-learning app you ever buy as well as the last.

Incredible, great for beginners to advanced speakers who want to learn Spanish or English.
